COPE of Warton, Hartshill & Earl Shilton.

The name Cope has undergone many spelling variations - Cope, Coap, Coape, Cape and others.
It emerged from the Anglo-Saxon culture of Britain about 1225, being a name given to a person who habitually wore a long cloak or cape.

There is no claim to the Cope motto - aequo adeste animo - or either of the crests shown above.
However, 'Be ready with constancy' seems appropriate for this family.
