The two major branches, the Cope and Needham families, joined on the occasion of the marriage of Brannon Cope to Margaret R Needham in 1957.

Preamble

It was a Cope family anecdote, that maintained there has only ever been one male heir in the family, to give issue to the next generation, that spurred the research that resulted in this genealogy.
